Building technology to improve lives
Our planet is 70% water, largely unzoned and overused. Finding ways to protect the ocean while allowing fishermen to make a good living is an essential but difficult task. With generous support from donors like you, Ecotrust developed a set of tools that allow a full range of stakeholders – from community members and business owners to scientists and government agencies – to come together in making decisions about the best use of the ocean.
Since 2001, with your valuable support, Ecotrust has been creating leading-edge solutions to some of our planet’s most pressing problems. In 2011, we were recognized as one of fifteen global innovators applying technology to significantly improve the lives of people around the world with our innovative marine planning tools. Over 14,000 fishermen and 17,000 square miles of ocean have benefited from these tools.
In 2012, with your help, we will continue to build tools like these to create more resilient communities, economies, and ecosystems. Your gift will help us continue to create technology to improve lives here and around the world.
